ConFlowIO

Shipping

DHL Parcel

ConFlowIO books directly on your DHL business customer account, internationally with customs data and the customs document as a file, optionally validated only at first. Labels come back as PDF or ZPL files.

Lockers and post offices, pickups, return labels and the end-of-day closing have building blocks of their own. Domestically, DHL adds a return label on request, and its number goes straight on to OTTO Market.

Demo on your own data

If DHL accepts only some of the packages of a shipment, the shipment is cancelled again rather than half sent.

Building blocks

Eight building blocks for DHL Parcel

  • Create shipmentsWrite

Books shipments on the business account, several packages with one parcel and label each, internationally with customs data and the customs document as a file, optionally validated only at first. Labels as PDF or ZPL, domestically with a return label on request.

  • TrackingRead

Reads the state of a shipment at DHL, with the delivery forecast and the time of delivery where DHL provides them, and, where available, who accepted the parcel.

  • Find lockers and post officesRead

Finds lockers and post offices near an address as uniform records — to offer them at checkout, for instance. A shipment can be addressed there; if the details do not match, it is rejected rather than sent to the home address.

  • CancelWrite

    Cancels a booked shipment.

  • End-of-day closingWrite

Runs the end-of-day closing at DHL.

  • Book pickupWrite

Books a pickup with DHL; one already booked for that day and address is recognised.

  • Return labelWrite

Creates a standalone return label with DHL, without an outbound shipment.

  • Free request

For anything without a ready-made building block: a request to the API, using the stored credentials.

In practice

Two workflows with DHL Parcel

  1. Shipping label for an order

One mapping for every carrier, instead of one per carrier.

    1. Readorders from shop, marketplace or ERP
    2. Maporder onto a shipment with its packages in the Shipping Bundle
    3. Createone parcel with label per package at DHL
    4. Storethe labels as files

If DHL accepts only some of the parcels, the shipment is cancelled again rather than half sent.

  2. Return tracking number for OTTO Market

OTTO expects the return tracking number with the shipment report.

    1. Readorders ready to ship from OTTO Market
    2. Createshipment at DHL, with a return label
    3. Reportshipment with tracking and return tracking number to OTTO

The return tracking number comes straight from the return label — nobody types it in.
